Lost one of my favorite movies of all time, so much from such a young actress, like early Bardot movies, she was much more talented than the rest of the cast, at least their equals.

Robin Williams created a huge problem for himself at 1.39 - 41 in the video. God is dead serious about it.

"Entirely honest examination of a life" - this is exactly why I love Daniel as Daniel Plainview, the humanity is there. I remember in the baptism scene, of course when he's being challenged by Eli on abandoning his son, you can see Plainview is being rattled and feeling guilty, but it doesn't take long for his bluster to come back and he gets that twinkle back in his eye mentioning the pipeline. But then when he's walking back to his seat and the townspeople are pouring over him, he looks human again, and then when the girl puts his arms around him when he's sat down...I know it sounds pretentious but you just feel it, you know there's a human in there, and he's conflicted, even if it's disappearing. Great writing, acting, and filming.

Simply Amazing, Outstanding in every aspect.

In early 1980's in NYC on a sun-snowed day, probably 5th Avenue, with snow piles high on every corner I reached one and waited for the light to cross in the 50-ties to 60-ties, so to arrive at the Picasso, my sister's apt. at 58th St. and Second Avenue. I got up a foot high or 2' on a bank of snow and waited. Suddenly, right below my chest arrived 2 or 3 gentleman; one with that memorizing Malden voice mid-tenor... I starred down at his bulbous nose on fire (perhaps they had left a good martini restaurant). I was agape and then the light changed and they cruised ahead of me into obscurity. True.

Possibly my favourite actor.

What I like about him is despite his talent he is just a guy who’s clocking in for work and doesn’t dwell on his personal accomplishments.

This was one of the best of his films beside Heat 1995, Scent of A woman 1993

It's true, he is a intelligent thoughtful bloke, must underrated in that department, his recent magazine interviews and some of his TV ones are really insightful and helpful to many people.

The movie is fantastic but don't forget the astonishing soundtrack from Danny Elfman

My all time favorite not because of his acting but because he was true to himself just real ..he is the greatest hoolywood figure while he hated to be part of this ..what a irony no actors are even closed to his acting same for Vivien Leigh they were part of another league irremplaçable

One of the best movies ever made. Close to perfection. Watch it a thousand times.. years later, it’s still badass. Rich and deep. Never gets old. Defines “Authentic.”
